Who supports the organisations that hold our communities together?
Every week in the Gladstone Region, volunteers quietly keep our community running. They coach our junior sport, check in on isolated neighbours, support families in crisis, protect our environment and respond when things go wrong. Yet many of the orgnisations behind these volunteers are at breaking point.
Behind every volunteer role sits a growing burden of red tape: governance obligations, insurance requirements, safety standards, reporting, compliance, grant acquittals and volunteer management systems. Most community groups are led by volunteers themselves. They are expected to meet the same standards as large charities, often with no paid staff.
NFP house exists to strengthen organisations that strengthen our community, providing practical support.
Recent national conversations about social cohesion, safety and resilience, amplified by major events and crisis, have reminded us that strong communities are built through well supported local organisations and volunteers who feel connected and valued.
NFP House sits in the middle of this ecosystem, reducing risk, cutting through complexity and helping community organisations survive and thrive.
