Find Your Place in the Community with Gladstone’s New Volunteering Program
Looking to give back, connect with others, or build new skills? The Gladstone Region Volunteers Bridging Program is your chance to take the first step into the world of volunteering — and it’s completely free.
Delivered by Not-For-Profit House (NFP) Gladstone in collaboration with Gladstone Regional Council, this unique program runs from 23 to 29 May at the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct. Each session is tailored to different community groups, making it easier for everyone to find their place.
The program kicks off with a special focus on people with disability — offering an inclusive space to explore volunteer pathways and hear from lived experiences.
On Monday 26 May, 9am–11am, the spotlight is on senior volunteering or transitioning to retirement, with practical advice on how to stay active, social, and purpose-driven later in life.
Tuesday 27 May features two sessions: from 9am–11am, the focus is on culturally and linguistically diverse communities, offering support and insights into how volunteering can build confidence, networks, and community connection. That afternoon, from 12.30pm–2.30pm, a session on essential services volunteering highlights ways to support emergency and frontline services.
Finally, on Thursday 29 May, 2pm–4pm, explore remote and regional volunteering — ideal for residents in outlying areas who want to contribute locally, even from a distance.
Spots are limited. Call 0460 792 812 or email admin@nfphouse.org.au to register and start making a difference.
