Value in Volunteering

TALK ABOUT VALUE FOR MONEY

As we mark volunteer week 2024, it’s time to celebrate the remarkable individuals who selflessly dedicate their time and energy to improving our community. Volunteer Queensland have just released a report showing that approximately 70% of the Australian population volunteer for an average of 21 hours per week! This equates to $30 billion of value to our economy! Volunteers are the backbone of countless organisations, providing invaluable services and support that make a difference in the lives of many.

In our Region alone, volunteers contribute to a myriad of causes from youth mentoring, supporting the elderly, community events, environmental clean ups… the list is endless and their social impact is immeasurable. These acts of kindness and generosity create a ripple effect, fostering a sense of unity and compassion within our community.

These contributions enrich our community and demonstrate the power of collective effort. Volunteering brings us together, reminding us that we all have a role to play in creating a better, more compassionate world.

Here’s to our volunteers, the heart and soul of our community!
