Easter Might Be Over, But Your Community Still Needs You
Easter in Gladstone has just wrapped up, and once again it showed what makes our region special.
From the Gladstone Harbour Festival to the finish of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, thousands of people came together to celebrate, connect and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
But now that the marquees are packed away and the crowds have gone home, it’s worth asking a simple question:
What happens next?
Because while Easter is one of the biggest weekends of the year, the organisations behind those events don’t stop. Local sporting clubs, community groups, charities and volunteer-run services continue every week, and they are stretched.
The same people who ran events over Easter are often the same people running committees, organising activities, managing finances and trying to keep things going year round.
The good news is, volunteering doesn’t have to mean a huge commitment. It can be as simple as helping at an occasional event, joining a committee, or doing a one off piece of work when you can.
